This risk assessment has been written for those people who are suddenly working alone from their own home or are manning an office on their own due to social distancing requirements following the current COVID 19 pandemic. As an employer you still have a duty of care to your staff wherever they are working. At the start of HM Government’s edict to work from home, the HSE said that employers need not do anything to assist their employees as this was intended to be a very short-term situation. As it is likely to be far longer for many people, health and safety law requires you as an employer, to ensure the health, safety and welfare of your staff while they’re working from home.
